Art Events in Miami This Week
Are you still debating what you might want to do in Miami this week? If you live in the Magic City, you know there is always something new and exciting going on, assuming you haven’t already visited our art gallery located in Wynwood. Without further ado, let’s get started.
Vancouver-based visual artist Stan Douglas will be stopping by the Perez Art Museum to talk about his artwork including the inspirations and stories that lead to its creation. You can check out his video piece called Luanda-Kinshasa which is currently being exhibited until September 25th. The event kicks off at 7pm tomorrow and is free to museum members or free with the price of museum admission to the general public.
Also happening tomorrow at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is Summer Shorts, a festival of short plays that range from fun and wonderful to strange and intriguing. This year the festival is also debuting musicals including Evelyn Shaffer and the Chance of a Lifetime, a romantic science fiction piece which depicts the life of a struggling game designer. The Summer Shorts festival runs until Sunday, July 3rd so you’ll still have time to check it out if you can’t make it tomorrow.
