DWNTWN Art Days Arrives This Weekend
Looking for signs that the art season is about kick into gear? Look no further than DWNTWN Art Days, the Miami’s Downtown Development Authority’s arts blowout that typically means the arts scene is about to get serious, eventually culminating in Art Basel Miami Beach.
DWNTWN Art Days is a three day event featuring work provided by more than fifteen different arts organizations found throughout Miami’s downtown area and an itinerary featuring over sixty events. These events range from performance art and poetry to art exhibits, hands on projects, author readings, and more.
Many of Miami’s most well-known institutions will be hosting events during DWNTWN Art Days, including the Perez Art Museum, Miami Children’s Museum, and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Emerging arts groups like MDC Live Arts will also be contributing programming to this year’s DWNTWN Art Days festivities. Activities will be available for people of all ages and interests.
The Miami Center for Architecture and Design on First Avenue will be serving as the central hub for DWNTWN Art Days, and this year it will also be featuring its own exhibits and programming. There is also a Downtown Art Days app available for your phone so you can keep track of everything that’s going on and see what you want to attend.
