Enjoy Art in Its Various Forms at III Points Festival

Art Basel may be the major highlight when it comes to upcoming art-related events, but the III Points Festival in Wynwood kicking off early next month is also up there in prestige. The three-day event is returning this year on October 7th and will bring plenty of art, DJs from around the world, and lots of unique bands.

One of the most anticipated musical acts expected to make an appearance at III Points Festival is the American rock band LCD Soundsystem. The critically acclaimed band fronted by musician James Murphy called it quits in 2011 but began performing again last year. The festival will include six different stages near Mana Wynwood and is expected to welcome over 25,000 concertgoers this year. Other notable acts set to make an appearance include hip hop duo Method Mad & Redman, UK-based DJ Maya Jane Coles, and plenty of local South Florida acts like Cog Nomen, Otto Von Schirach, Holly Hunt, Sunghosts, and more.

As for the art at III Points Festival, there will be various exhibits including Aileen Quintana’s “Sunset@Noon,” a 6,000-square-foot installation of a shopping mall, the virtual reality game “Mars 2030” by Julian Reyes, and a group show called “Surface Imagery” by the Institute of Contemporary Art showcasing the work of Miami artists.
