The Suicide Squad Visits Wynwood
Are you familiar with DC Comics at all? If so, you might have heard of Suicide Squad, an upcoming film based on one of the company’s many properties expected to be released on August 5th. Some members of the cast recently dropped by Miami’s Wynwood area to promote the film as part of a block party that also included a mural inspired by the film. Margot Robbie who plays the deranged Harley Quinn and multi-talented actor Will Smith both showed up at the party and Smith even performed one of his most well-known tunes: “Miami” of course. Smith will be portraying the character of Deadshot in the film.
Suicide Squad is based on the DC Comics series of the same name that focuses on a team of DC supervillains tasked with executing dangerous government missions in exchange for clemency. The film version of the comic will feature one of the most acclaimed and well-known characters in comic book history: The Joker. The iconic character has been famously portrayed by Cesar Romero in the 1960s Batman television series, Jack Nicholson in the 1989 Batman film, and by the late Heath Ledger in 2008’s The Dark Knight. Ledger won a posthumous Academy Award for his performance. The Joker will be portrayed by Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto in Suicide Squad.
